Card Doctors II
I was having trouble with a card and posted that yesterday. Thankfully I got some really good advice from Leah and that was to change the orientation of the card. I did that and then I also tried to apply some of Nichole Heady's advice of the Rule of Three from the last Make It Monday video. I think this card is better. I like it better anyway. I balanced the sentiment label and pushed it closer to the flowers, made the leaves smaller and added another smaller flower to create some balance. I put the Canyon Clay buttons (made out of paper because I don't have those buttons yet) on the flowers to bring three versions of the colour onto the card and spread the leaves out as well. I think it works much better. Still not completely there, but I'm happier. What do you think? Just in case you didn't see it, here's the first version.

I like the orientation better on the second card you made (first one you posted) which is strange, because I often like up and down cards better than horizontal ones. I also like the buttons you added for the flower centres! I would have maybe grouped your elements a little closer to each other & put the two flowers together, but that's just my personal preference.
I was wondering about those flowers. I remember Betsy Veldman talking about 'tucking' sentiments closer to the objects and I think this one could have benefitted from that as well. I maybe should have made two smaller flowers and put them together in one grouping. Thanks for the advice! It's really a learning process, isn't it?
LOVELY card!! I really love the color combo you used!!!
Have a GREAT day!
Thanks, Bethie. I was trying to make myself choose colours I normally wouldn't put together.
You're right, the second is "better" in terms of design flow, Carolyne--like Leigh, I love the addition of the Canyon Clay buttons too! I have yet to use that color. I keep trying but seem to have a color block (pun intended) when it comes to Canyon Clay! :-D
I like the second one better, it seems to flow! Lovely color combo!
the second one really came together quite well, nice job!
Thanks for the encouragement. LIke I said it's a learning process. And I guess you don't learn if you don't make mistakes.
Hi Carolyne! I really like how your revised version came out! The balance is much better and I also love the color combo, so pretty! It certianly is a learning process but for me that's part of the joy. Have a wonderful day!
Hi I think they are both very pretty, but I have to say I like the change . Great balance , not that I know too much about that.
